Instructional blogs like the one you are now reading are all over the web, but finding good content on them isn’t always easy. However, I just found a great post from Neil van Niekerk describing a simple method for adjusting your aperture and shutter speed to allow creative control of depth of field and motion blur without stopping the session to take new meter readings. So, I will send you to his blog to read his full post, instead of trying to recreate it here. Make sure you scroll to the end where he discusses the aperture scale that used to be found on lenses in the old days and how important that scale is to understanding the relation of the full and partial f-stops.
Many thanks to Neil for the great post.
